I purchased the stem to upgrade to drop bars. The only problem was having the 26.0 mm diameter bars. That size is not common anymore. I also wanted to raise the bars a bit so that I don't get a sore back. I dialed in the height and angle to better fit me and perfect. I am riding a bit more upright and no sore back. This is a good stem for anyone who can not be fitted on a regular bike due to long body frame.

Easy to adjust, no wobble in the bars, does what its supposed to do. Great for figuring out which stem setup works for you. I'm 6'4" on an XL frame and I needed to figure out what stem would put the bar height where I needed it.

This stem along with new handlebars has made a dramatic difference in my riding comfort. I have been riding the same steel bike for 10 years and now that I'm 55 I was looking to be less stretched in my riding position. An adjustable stem allows you to get exactly the reach you want. The stem is rocksolid and easy to adjust. I have been making small adjustments while I ride and have it exactly where I want. It's a little heavy compared to a conventional stem but for me having the perfect riding position far out weighs having to carry a few extra grams.

I didn't realize how heavy 260 grams was until I had both the original and the new one in hand - nearly double the weight of my stock stem. But unless you're a competitive racer, you don't buy something like this for the weight, you buy it because you're looking to make your bike fit you better.
As someone else noted, its finish is glossy instead of matte. I don't care but if that sort of thing bothers you...
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ADJUST IT! It uses interlocking teeth, and if you don't tighten it sufficiently, it will slip on you suddenly and fatefully. I failed to tighten it to the specification (embossed helpfully adjacent to the tightening hex-bolt), and when coming to a stop sign suddenly found myself without handlebars, and my ribs had a date with the steering column. *ouch*
I also suspect it could be tightened with the teeth gritting into each other, instead of interlocked - which could also leave you in a situation where, under moderate weight, it appears sturdy, but fails suddenly. So make sure to jiggle it after you first encounter tension, to make sure it reaches its most stable state.
But all that is common mechanical sense. It's got a great adjustment range, if you adjust it properly it feels incredibly sturdy, and really that's all you'll ever need.

I used this on a Surly Long Haul Trucker where I needed a slightly shorter stem, but wanted to keep the bar height the same. The adjustable angle is great for getting your fit dialed in.
Very well made and sturdy. The product picture gave me the impression that the finish was a matte black, but the actual stem is a gloss black that matches my bike, which was a very pleasant surprise.
