PROS: Good Price For Quality, Comfortable Fit, Lightweight, Highly Adjustable, Made In Italy
My head is wider in the frontal plane than most helmets sold in bike shops can accommodate. This means I end up buying large size helmets that still cut into the sides of my heads but are loose in the front and back. After doing some research which pointed to KASK helmets fitting wider/rounder heads better than other helmets, I decided to give it a try. My head measured 57 cm and I ordered a Medium. I was a bit nervous since I had always had to order L or XL. The M KASK helmet fit perfectly and does not cut into my head at all. The adjustable band at the back is easy and intuitive to use. The helmet is very light and allows good airflow. So happy I found it!
This helmet has a lot of bang for your buck. It might not be as cutting edge as a helmet that costs three times as much, but it still a quality helmet. Very comfortable to wear in both fit and air flow.
I love this helmet. I tried on quite a few different brands of helmets before deciding on the Kask. Of course the only option at my LBS was the Protone. Although it's not as aerodynamic as the Protone, it fit just as well, and was half of the price. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
I bought this for my daughter, she started riding more recently and her old Giro helmet no longer fits. I've been using Kask Vertigo for years and based on that experience, I got my daughter the Rapido. While it doesn't have the full range up-down adjustment of the back cradle, the retention system works well and the fit is great. More importantly, it is very easy for my daughter to wear this helmet the right way, and the helmet doesn't shift back as she rode. The internal padding is minimal, but she wears a cycling cap under the helmet, so padding is a none-issue. Overall she loves this helmet, and she will wear it, and that's ultimately important.
