Kenda Honey Badger Pro 26" Tire

The Honey Badger just ‘don’t care.’ The Kenda Honey Badger Pro tire is designed to be aggressive enough to rip through loamy conditions, roll smoothly over hard pack and rock, dig through loose- over- hard terrain, and just be an all around great mountain bike tire. The Honey Badger is perfect for a variety of conditions. Upgrade the part of your bike that actually touches the trail, your tires! This version of the Honey Badger Pro features Kenda's SCT technology. SCT is the modification of existing Kenda tire technologies making them now compatible with fluid based tubeless conversion systems. Kenda's DTC technology allows you to maintain high speeds without sacrificing traction. DTC is the ultimate tread compound. Kenda's L3R Pro compound (60 shore A durometer) in the center and the cornering knobs have STICK-E compound (50 shore A durometer). The benefits are great center tread life and great cornering control and grip.

Comments about Kenda Honey Badger Pro 26" Tire:

Ran it as rear with a Nevegal X Pro out front on a full suspension Giant Trance. Used mainly in the Cottonwood trails of the Las Vegas desert. Badger was surprisingly high volume and measured wider than the 2.35 Nevegal. It mounted very easily tubeless with only a floor pump on Mavic UST wheels. Was a good looking and lighter weight option for a rear. Enjoyed riding with it although the braking grip is lower than others, consistent with what many others reviewed. The center tread went fairly quickly; lasted less than 3 months of average 15 mile rides 2-3 times a week. First one developed a massive herniated bulge which retired the tire. Since it was the sealant compatible version I contacted Kenda and they promptly sent me a replacement. The second one did not have the same adverse reaction to Stan's, but it provided the same meager useful duration before the center tread wore down. Had a lot of fun running the tire while it lasted. Did well on both the techy grinds and rocky bombs. Never had an issue with the grip while the tread was in useful range. I'd estimate the front Nevegal was at roughly 50% tread life after having gone through both Badgers. Never had sealing or burping issues and the sidewall held up well despite the occassional curbing of rocks. Impressed with tire aside from the tread life it offered while used in the dry rocky terrain out here. The lower price might be an acceptable trade-off and YMMV depending on where you ride.

I tried the badger for it's light weight and faster climb. Yes it did roll faster, but it lost way to much traction in both climb and downhill. Side knobs are to small

Comments about Kenda Honey Badger Pro 26" Tire:

Awesome tires for a rear tire, Using the Kenda NEvegal 2,2 for the front and the Honey Badger for the rear, You can hear the grip when it digs into the ground when peddling but surprisingly it dosent slow you down too much, What I'm most astounded is the level of grip I have riding it up hill, I can tell that the side knobs won't let it slide, As for braking, I normally front brake so Im fine with the wear and tear on the rear as I don't slide my tires much as not to destroy the trails
