This version of the Small Block 8 uses Kenda’s signature DTC compound. DTC is the ultimate tread compound. Kenda’s L3R compound (60 shore A durometer) is in the center and the cornering knobs have Kenda’s signature STICK-E compound (50 shore A durometer). The benefits are great center tread life, and excellent cornering. You get the best of both worlds with DTC!

as the title says, "possibly" the lightest tire around. There may be a lighter one out there but I haven't found it. I usually take my bike out year round a couple time a week for 1 to 2 hours each time. So far I'm still on my first set so they has a decent amount of life in them! I ride 45% hard pack, 45% loose rocks and 10% other. these things seem to perform perfectly for what I use them on. I hear people complaining about mud but I haven't tried. Terrible in sand but what tires aren't? They seem to do just fine with thorns, the occasional one gets through, im using tubs with Stan's liquid latex and everything works out fine.

The Small Block 8s came on my Giant Talon 29er in June, and I rode them on a variety of conditions since then. They are great on pavement, almost like riding a road bike, and the excel on packed dirt. However, if a little rain falls while I'm riding, I'm doomed to spend the rest of my ride slipping out on corners.
