Have done some both some laid back and very fast mixed pavement/gravel rides on these. They're not road tires, but they don't seem to slow me down much on pavement. Very comfy on rough roads (I'm 160lbs and run 40psi front/45 psi rear) and corner much better than I expected on asphalt. With the tiny center knobs, I figured I'd be sacrificing traction and stability on gravel, but boy was I wrong! They were stable on everything from rough, rocky dirt roads, to deep gravel and even loose sand. Very nice to know you only need to worry about the other guys when you're doing 25+ in the group on a sketchy gravel section. I haven't been on anything wet or muddy, but my guess is they probably wouldn't be the right tire for those conditions. 700 x 35c measures about 34mm at the casing and 37-38mm across the knobs.

The only con was getting the beads to seat tubeless (with a compressor and plenty of soap and water). The SCT version sidewalls are stiff and I had to resort to first using a tube to seat the beads and give the tire some shape, then removing the tube while only popping one bead off, and then putting in sealant and re-inflating. The other bead seated relatively easily that way.

I have been looking to replace my Hutchison Bulldogs with a new tubeless compatible cx tire. I would not recommend these (SCT) tires if you are going to run them at low pressure (<40psi). Too much rolling resistance. I like the tread, but the casing is so stiff it's like riding a touring tire. I had them mounted on Stans Alpha 340s with one layer of yellow tape.
Outside of that they function as they should, but I was expecting a little more from Kenda.
I was disappointed.
On the plus side, I was not able to burp them off the rim.

Good for gravel grinding in good conditions, it is limited by its low traction so once the conditions get loose or wet their out. But for its specific purpose great

Comments about Kenda Happy Medium Pro Cyclocross Tire:

I converted my Cx wheels to tubeless for an up coming Gravel Bike event with the Kenda Happy Mediums. They mounted quickly and held air pressure without issue. The ride quality was very good and I'm still working on getting the exact pressure dailex in but 40 psi seems to be the Happy Zone for the 32's.

The HM's rolled well on the pavement and were far better on the hard pack fire roads I've ridden then the stock tires. Cornering was much improved.

I rode a set of these for over 1200 miles about 60/40 Road vs Gravel before the rear tire was too thread bare in my view to trust on longer rides. I thought they held up very well. Roll great on pavement and on gravel Thorns will puncture, especially the side wall. Not worse than other similar tires. I used a liner but that made them a little heavier than I wanted. Overall a very good tire.

I don't often write reviews but I felt like I had to on these tires. I've only had them on the bike for a week around 50 miles of use but their fantastic! I'm a road guy that purchased a cyclocross bike looking for something different after many, many miles on the road. I went with the 40's for the added stability. I ride on gravel roads, pavement, hard packed dirt & grass and so far these tires handle it all with ease.I highly recommend them!
