Prices shown in currencies other than USA Dollars are estimates based on current exchange rates. We will charge your credit card in USA Dollars on the day your order is shipped, and the conversion to your local currency will be done at the prevailing rate by your credit card issuer.
Shipments outside the USA are declared as “bike parts” for customs purposes and will include the actual amount paid for merchandise and shipping. Jenson USA will not mark your parcel as a “gift”, declare a value lower than the actual price paid, or otherwise prepare false customs information.
Whether you’re racing short track or riding with the crew, if you’re motivated by challenging your endurance while submersing yourself into the beauty and freedom of the outdoors, Kona’s Kula 27.5” fun-machine was designed to do just that. It's a great all-around frame with modern geometry and great details to match, all at an impressive weight.
What is there to say about the 27.5” wheel size? They roll over obstacles and track better than 26” wheels, but are more maneuverable and nimble than 29” wheels. You won’t hear us quarreling that. Shaped with an emphasis on speed, the Kula features a Scandium 69 tubeset. What the heck is Scandium? Known to have one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any alloy in the world, Scandium is a potent grain refiner that when added to aluminum alloys, boosts the strength and resilience of the material by 50%. Since this material is so much stronger than conventional aluminums, less material is needed, achieving ride characteristics similar to steel but at a much lower weight penalty.
While the Kula frame can certainly hustle, in doing so it provides a smooth, stable ride in order to boost both your confidence and your love for the trail. Such features include a compact rear triangle which finds the perfect balance between stability on quick downhill sections and agility in tight-twisty sections. Like most modern mountain bikes, the Kula is also gifted with a tapered headtube which better distributes shock force for better steering precision and better balance, giving you more control in rougher terrain. As with any mountain bike geared for partying on the trail, the Kuna frame is routed for internal and external dropper seatpost compatibility.
The Kona Kula 2015 SRAM bike is a Jenson USA exclusive, outfitted with a SRAM 2x10 drivetrain and a Race Face cockpit, conceiving a resilient build aimed at making it easy on the wallet to throw a leg over a playful Kona.
