Kona Process 111 Frame 2017

Kona Process 111 2017 Frame

Go bigger, get rowdier

The new Kona Process 111 frame continues to see refinements that give it a bevy of new abilities. A slackened head tube anlge and lengthened top create a more progressive geometry that will favor today’s aggressive trail riders. The Kona Process 111 is made of 6061 Aluminum, and sports 111mm of travel via Kona’s rocker suspension system with Rock Shox Monarch shock. The 29" platform makes it a great choice for XC, Trail and even Enduro riding. The 12x142mm thru axle rear end removes unwanted flexing and keeps the bike going where you want it to. The Process 111 frame is compatible with internally routed dropper posts so you can discretely route your favorite dropper without cables clogging up the appearance. So gear up for your next big ride and dish out all the abuse you can muster-this new Process 111 may be the fastest trail bike you’ll ever ride.

Pinkbike - ”The Process 111 is, without a doubt, a hooligan through and through.” - Mike Levy

Sick bike.
I did a recent frame build-up out of one of these, and I can't stay off the darn bike. I'm a Bellingham native, and this bike is more than sufficient for pretty much anything local, save the biggest features. The geometry is nimble and playful, but still rock-steady. Rolls, drops, jumps, grueling climbs, techy all-mountain, this bike blurs lines. The linkage is progressive with solid mid-stroke support and it rides predictably. Considering how short the travel is, it actually takes some effort to bottom out.
I've been running it with about 28% sag in the rear, and about 18% in the front with a 140mm fork, CCDBinline and a PUSH'd Fox 34, and it's a dream. The frame is stiff, the pivots are burly, and the geometry is daring. Platforms and a full-face don't feel at all out of place.
Take it on freeride trails. Take it to the park. Take it up the fire-road sufferfests. It's responsive, and it won't act like a coil-sprung bike, it'll act like a trail bike should. It's an excellent option if you're looking for a daily-driver, a more climb-friendly mini-AM bike, or a burlier trail sled.

Happy Trails.
