The Kryptonite Security WheelBoltz Locking Skewer: 2 Pack is designed to keep your wheels away from thieves, because the skewers can only be loosened or removed when the bike is upside down. If you've locked your bike properly, that's pretty hard to do. For maintenance-related wheel removal, when the bike tends to be upside down anyway, there's no issue with removing the skewers. And there's no reason to carry a key or other odd tool, just use a standard 5mm hex wrench (included). Stay looking sharp with the weather protective coating, no corrosion here. That's one less thing to worry about.
