There are no rim brakes on the market that offer this much power, are anywhere near as light (not even the Direct Curve 5's are as lite), or have this level of modulation. I am not bagging on disc's, but these brakes make a very, very strong argument against them.

It is easy to adjust the pads, however it does take a little more time to get them centered. If they fell mushy or underpowered, you pro'ly have them adjusted wrong. No brake rim brake has better feedback either.

      Don't buy these! Just don't.

Installed these to replace some 12 year old Avid 2 brakes, I should have just replaced the pads on the old Avids.

The Cane Creeks were light, I loved the idea of getting rid of the 90 degree noodle on typical V brakes but Cane Creek just couldn't deliver enough benefit to make it worth the set-up.

The craftsmanship is pretty poor. The right rear brake pivot rubs against the brake arm when trying to use the hole for the greatest spring tension on the frame causing the brake to bind.

You have to have the cable housing length absolutely perfect to get these to work anywhere close to alright. This makes the rear brake cable loop so far out from the frame, your leg brushes up against the cable housing while pedaling. Make it shorter and the brake binds.

Seriously, click away from this product and go but some Avids or something. Seriously not impressed and the last time I'll purchase a Cane Creek product period.

Comments about Cane Creek Direct Curve 3 Brake:

These replaced OEM canti brakes on my Trek CX bike. Matched with drop-v levers so power is good and modulation feels direct but I haven't asked too much of them either. I do however believe they could be substantially lighter for a little more.

        They also look very cool.

Comments about Cane Creek Direct Curve 3 Brake:

The unique design of these direct pull brakes allows a more direct route for the cable, eliminating friction and increasing the feel. I've been using on my commuting bike and another bike, I've been quite impressed. The brakes stop quickly, yet have plenty of modulation. I'm thinking about replacing the rear Avid 7 brakes on my non-disk hardtail based on my experience.

Comments about Cane Creek Direct Curve 3 Brake:

As far as I can tell, there are no other v-brakes on the market that have the raw stopping power that these brakes do. The only downside to these brakes is that they are tricky to dial in perfectly, due to the different arm lengths. However, once you get them aligned properly, nothing except disc brakes will offer the same stopping power and smooth modulation.
