Shimano M820 Saint Disc Brake

The Shimano M820 is the third generation of Saint. Saint was developed under the philosophy of “Pure Gravity”. The new Saint is dedicated to downhill racing and will allow you to speed up and slow down at World Cup racing speed.

Shimano's advanced Saint ICE Technologies brake levers feature shorter more ergonomic levers that feature tool free lever adjustment and adjustable free stroke for the ultimate in customization. The new Saint has superior heat-management with self insulating ceramic pistons and radiator fin extra wide pads. The overall operating temperature has been reduced by 50 degrees with 20% more stopping power, compared to the older version.

Love these brakes, un-matched stopping power. Perfect for DH riding. When paired with Ice Tech rotors it makes these the best brakes money can buy.

I haven't used every brake on the market, but I probably wouldn't waste my time on any other kind, stops quick, great modulation, and excellent lever feel. I shopped around and Jenson by far has the best price

Comments about Shimano Saint BR-M820 Disc Brake:

I have used lots of brakes in my time and my freeride bike (6x6) has SRAM XOs. While not a direct comparison, these Saints really surprised me! Like really surprised me. Way more accuracy in the braking, especially when slamming into a big DH corner at high speed. Not sure weight is an issue, I have considered replacing my XOs on my freeride bike. I had considered Zees and glad I spent the little extra. Awesome!

Comments about Shimano Saint BR-M820 Disc Brake:

These brakes modulate just as well as the XT's, maybe better. I ride a lot of steep technical chunk in Arizona.

These brakes work well for true one-finger braking as you navigate down steep chutes and rock gardens.

I got these to replace my Avid Elixir 5 on my Downhill bike. They are certainly alot more precise. Alot of control on brake power.

Factory bleed is kind of off.

Great brakes. Look beautiful and are lightweight.

I paired them with the Icetech rotors.

Comments about Shimano Saint BR-M820 Disc Brake:

I bought these to replace some Avid Elixer9's..

I am running extremely light rotors and these have more than enough braking power to stop me when I want but yet ton's of modulation for the ultimate control over the braking power..

These have been total silent in use and have put on nearly 500miles in wet, dry and sandy conditions..

Minimal brake fade when wet and once used dry quickly and right back to max braking power..

I went for the max braking power over the XTR's and happy I did.. Not a single regret with this purchase..

Gives the bike that serious riding look..

Would buy them again in a second..

I haven't had to bleed them or any kind of maintenance in 500miles of varied riding..

The Saint brakes are awesome! This purchase was my first pair for my Trek, and I just recently upgraded my Yeti SB66 Race with these. They have all the stopping power when you want it, but can be very smooth and gentle when you don't want to feel like you're going over the bars.
