Not as powerful as Shimano XT
Used this brake on a 2017 Specialized Stumpjumper Carbon Comp 6fattie (MSRP $4000). The brakes required considerable more force than my previous experience with the Shimano XTs on the Stumpy Experts from last year. This resulted in serve hand fatigue when lapping the bike downhill at Copper Mountain. The XTs also felt more confident, would recommend over these in a heartbeat.

    Needs work
These came on my bike and they do work but not as good as XT's. I noticed on long ride my hands would get fatigued. They need a lot more force and the confidence just isn't there for me. Never had this with XT. They don't feel comfortable to me at the lever. I like SRAM components but they need to do some more work to get these right. Yes, they are the lower end Guide's but honestly they are not worth the price. I thought of going for the Guide Ultimate version (which may be awesome) but in reality, why? I can get front & rear XT including Ice-Tech rotors for almost the cost of 1 Ultimate brake.
As mentioned, they will stop you with more effort so it's not like they are junk. XT's are jsut better in all categories of performance, weight, and comfort. In fact, I will be getting the full XT setup including Ice-Tech rotors tomorrow (ordered from Jenson last week) and cannot wait to get them on. Also, the new M8000 XT's are I-spec II and Problem Solvers has an adapter to fit your SRAM shifter. It's the Mismatch 1.2 (SRAM to Shimano). Jenson has this as well. When I get the setup completed, I will review the adapter as I am curious how good it will work.

    Response from Jenson USA
Hey Tim, I'm a big fan of Shimano's XT brakes but love SRAM drivetrains. I use the Problem Solvers' Mismatch adapter and love it! Super easy to install, great positioning, and clean look. Enjoy the setup! Keep Pedaling.

    Buyer beware
These brakes worked good for about a year. However, recently the lever is getting stuck and the brakes do not retract fully and are producing drag on the rotor (even after full brake bleed). I now have no braking modulation and they have a completely ON-OFF feel. After doing some on-line research, I have concluded that this is a common issue and results from the plastic lever piston sticking in the lever bore. This appears to be a design flaw. I gave one star because I did like the modulation of these brakes, when they worked properly. I would recommend Shimano XT brakes as an alternative...and they're less expensive!
