Comments about Manitou Tower Pro 29 Fork 2011:
A great fork for a great price. This plush platform is matched with a super stiff axle setup. The fork has met the challenge of New England riding (technical rocky and rooty trails). Takes a bit of fine tuning to get right and a heavier spring is needed for heavier riders (220+ lb). The heavier spring is hard to come by unfortunately. Great upgrade for any 29er sporting a stock coil platform!

This fork is great. Super plush with just some minor tuning. I wish the 2011 model came with a heavier stock spring. Sounds like Manitou fixed that for the 2012 model. I like the graphics and the 20mm TA is awesome. Manitou has exceptional customer service. If you ever need anything or have a question, give them a call or send them an email and you will get a friend;y and helpful response almost immediately.

I use for trail riding on a hardtail. Damping is excellent, able to manually tune high speed compression with adjustable shim stack. Very rare on forks of this price range and travel. 20mmTA is extremely still and torsionally rigid, but takes tools and time to take wheel on and off. Well worth it for my purposes. Easy to disassemble and perform maintenance (seals, semibath oil, damping oil, bushings, etc.) Note: It is gloss white, not matte white. Important if you are trying to match with frame.

Nice fork for the cost. I gave the coil spring as a con because you will have to purchase a different coil if you are not in the intended weight range - should come supplied w/ a few options.

Fork WAY out performs Rock Shock reba's and other forks costing MUCH more. More tunable than any fork I've ever used or ridden. Honestly, I can't see why anyone would spend more for anything.
Going to a 20mm axle from QR and I actually LOST WEIGHT on the bike!! how? no Brake adaptor (with 160mm rotors) the Axle is INCLUDED in the weight of the fork so add that to the others weight statements, Also with my Hope Pro 2 hubs, the 200mm adaptors are just spacer cones as the bearings are 20mm ID, the QR adaptors have heavy knurled grips and thick "filler" material as they actually act as the axle. Add it all up and the 20mm Axle Manitou is like 30 grams lighter than the Reba was :)

Comments about Manitou Tower Pro 29 Fork 2011:
I was looking for a new fork with 120mm and a thru-axle for my 08 Turner Sultan. Many of the TA forks now available came with tapered steerers, which wouldnt fit on my frame. My previous Manitou Minute was light and plush, and completely reliable. but it was getting old and was a bit noodly due to the quick release lowers.
This was just what the doctor ordered - through axle - check, 1 1/8 steer tube - check, 120mm - check. The suspension action is up to the usual Manitou standards (plush, plusher than any fox I might add, adjustable compression works with a sensible range of adjustment) and if it lasts as long as my previous Manitou Minute 29er, I'll be happy. The only thing that I can criticize about it is the outdated through axle, which needs two different hex wrench sizes to undo, and the white color. These are minor gripes, however, as I rarely take off the front wheel, and carry the necessary mini tool anyway on rides. The white color is currently a fad I dont understand. Dirt shows up on white easily. Oh well.
But this is definitely my favorite purchase for the year.
The bonus is that its on sale!!!

Comments about Manitou Tower Pro 29 Fork 2011:
This is the best fork you can buy in the 120mm range. The only thing it lacks is 1.5" tapered steerer. However, due to the hex lock, it is still stiffer than a 15mm w/ tapered steerer. Different spring rates available as well.

Lightweight, love the 20mm thru axle!
