The Mavic Switchback mountain bike shoe is a rare creature. The Switchback allows you to ride the trails then hit the coffee shop after, without looking out of place. The casual looking shoe features many technical features including the Contragrip rubber sole that features incredible traction. The softshell upper is extremely breathable, which helps to keep feet comfortable and dry. Laces synch the shoe to your feet securely, and provide a comfortable fit, without the worry of pressure points.

These are some great MTB shoes that look cool enough to pass for wearing around town. The threat is quite deep so if you are using eggbeaters with platform (e.g. candy) you may nee to shim is a bit to make clipping-in easier. Finally, (and this is a personal preference) I wish the shoe was half an inch higher around ankle and hill. It does not fall-off (obviously), but it does see like it could given appropriate upward lift on the pedal.
