This handy tool is used for truing and adjusting spoke tension on Mavic UST wheels. Available in two models, one for Mavics Zicral spokes (Mavic part # M40652) and one for steel spokes (Mavic Part # M40630).
Use Mavic part # M40652 to adjust spokes on Deemax UST, Crossmax UST, Crossmax SL, Crossmax XL, Ksyrium SSC, Ksyrium SSC SL wheels, Crosstrail, Crossmax Enduro and Enduro Disc.
Use Mavic part # M40630 to adjust the screwed eyelets on Crossroc, Crossroc Disc, and Ksyrium Elite wheels( Pre 05), as well as the D3.1 Disc, X3.1 Disc, and X3.1 rims, EX823 Disc, XM819 and XM819 Disc.

The wrench works great when the spokes aren't too stiff, I haden't trued my deemax's for about a year and ended up stripping the aluminum teeth on the spoke wrench. What I recommend is using the parktool to loosen them up and then the mavic tool for quick removal. Clean up the threads on the spoke, oil it up and put it back in and it will feel just like new. After you get the gunk out of the threads, the mavic tool is great and quick!

This wrench fits the C29SSMAX wheel set. Once your wheels are a couple of seasons old, good luck using the plastic wrench that came with your wheelset. This aluminum one works so good, it might break your spoke nipples!
