The XM 819 rim is a new rim in Mavic's "cross-mountain" family. Replaces the X3.1 rim in Mavic's lineup. They're designed for heavier duty use than a pure cross-country rim, yet still offer lightweight performance that won't weigh you down. The XM 819 Disc is compatible with UST tubeless tires, so you can enjoy the benefits of UST, including lower tire pressure, better traction, and no pinch flats. Only one rim wall is drilled (Mavics Fore technology) so the finished wheel is far stiffer and stronger.
|Drilling:||32 hole, presta valve|

Would buy again in a second- no question. Great product- good enough for racing and can still take the hits with a big guy in the****pit.
First experience building up a set of wheels like this and they made for an excellent build (Hope Pro II's and DT Comp spokes). Noticed how strong / stiff they are on the first ride.Quality is very good.
I've been more than pleased with these rims with a custom build at Jenson with Hope XC hubs and running Kenda Nevegal UST tires. Was skeptical about the UST setup in the beginning, but after a long week of riding tough singletrack in Fruita, Moab, and Rockies Front Range trails, I've yet to lose any air in my tires. The seal that these create with the UST tires is a work of art.
I've had no problems with this rim other then the overall combination feels too heavy. I want a lighter setup for climbing, but if I was doing some downhill or serious remote traveling, I would trust this rim.
I'm a 190 lbs and ride hard, so I need a strong rim, but don't want a weight penalty; these rims meet my riding needs perfectly. I still use tubes, and my tires hold air better than with 717 rims; not to mention the spoke lengths are shorter, so one gets a stronger disc braking feel too..
