Designed for professional racers, the Ignitor has already claimed several World Cup victories. Well-spaced tread pattern provides low rolling resistance on the straights, ramped pentagon knobs at the outside edge provide excellent traction in the corners and in soil.
A good choice for riders with an eye on weight who need a bit more grip than some popular minimally-treaded hardpack tires provide. Both sizes have folding beads for weight savings and lightweight single-ply casings. The tread rolls well and grips on hardpack, medium soil, and loose-over-hardpack terrain.

Excellent traction, deep knobs, fast rolling, very good perfomance in wet or dry conditions (I've used in mud roads).

I have used several sets of these tires, the quality of the last ones I purchased was significantly worse. They wore out in about 25% of the time of the previous sets. For an expensive tire this is not acceptable.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor Tire:
I use this tire on the front of a rigid 29er singlespeed. It has good air volume and grips well. Had some sticker shock, but hopefully it will be long wearing.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor Tire:
I'm running these on a pair of Sun Ringle Black Flag Pro 29er wheels with the Stan's tubeless set-up. It's a nice light, fast, and durable ride. I've riden them in both wet and dry conditions in Central and Western PA and NC. Like others have said, they are great in hard pack and loose over hardpack conditions. I found them to be very versatile and they've handled everything I've thrown at them. In typical dry conditions, they get great grip and are very fast. When the soil gets a little loose and a little wet, they're still good. They don't do so great in very wet and muddy conditions. If you're in very loose sandy conditions, they will slide too much and bog down too. I run them both front and rear, due to the mixed conditions I ride in and like them a lot. For what they are meant for, they're wonderful I have other tires I'll go to for very loose, sandy and muddy conditions. I won't ding them on that. The only minor gripe I have w/them so far is that I haven't been able to get them to hold air for an extended period of time with my tubeless set up. The first time I put them on, they did hold air for a long time. But now, they're good for a nice long ride. But after a day or so in the garage, I'll need to put air back in them. Not a big deal to me, but I certainly could not consider running them tubeless for a multi-day ride. I have not tried other tires yet tubeless on these or other wheels, so take those comments for what they're worth. They've been wearing very well for me and they have not had any issues w/rocks, so they've been plenty durable. Long story short, I really love these tires for most conditions I ride in. I'll be short track racing w/these soon and expect them to perform well over the season. I expect they will last at least a season for me, unless something dramatic happens.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor Tire:
Great set of tires. When I hit the loose corners they grip super well. Roll fast on hardpack or loose over hardpack. They do ok in semi wet conditions but any mud your gunna wanna throw something different on but overall a great tire.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor Tire:
I bought the maxxis ignitors 2.35, due to the reason I heard they run small. The 2.35 was the same size as the 2.25 bontragers that were on my bike. Outstanding grip climbing and make braking quick and precise. Will buy again.

I can only can really comment on the front tire use but I will be mounting this tire on front and back on my new trail bike. I am very happy with the ability of this tire to handle it all. Have been running this tire for two years now. Love it.

Great tire for the rear. Never used it as a front. Grips really well, is light weight and rolls pretty good. Works well for hardpack and loose over hard.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor Tire:
I run these tubeless on Stans Arch EX rims. They were a little hard to mount but have performed well tubeless. I've had them for about 2 months, riding mostly rocky, rooty trails with a good bit of sand.
