Maxxis Minion DHF Exo 26" Folding Tire

Maxxis Minion DHF EXO 60A Folding Tire

The Minion DHF was designed for the often loose and muddy conditions of aggressive all-mountain terrain. The DHF uses ramped knobs for a low rolling resistance and channel-cut knobs to increase gripping edges, providing straight-line control and precise cornering. The EXO protection is a densely woven, lightwight, and highly flexible fabric that offers excellent sidewall protection to prevent cuts or abrasions in rock gardens or rooted trail areas.

Maxxis Minion DHF EXO 60A Folding Tire Features

  • Designed for low rolling resistance and precise cornering
  • Depending on course conditions, DHF works well front and rear or as a front paired with DHR
  • Directional, ramped knob design
  • Lightweight, single-ply casing

Old Reliable
I love the folding DHF Minion for a heavy duty trail tire that also stands up to some lift served. Love the 2.5 inch size for aggressive riding on loose trails with a good amount of loose rock. Sidewalls are adequate enough for protection against most rock cuts without being too heavy for pedaling. These tires are as good a balance as I have found between a decent rolling aggressive tread tire with awesome straight line and cornering traction in the kitty litter of mid summer dry trails. Just lay them over and carve the turn like you're on rails, you're all good!

Nice tire.
I bought this to use as a spare tire for my fat bike as it is half the weight of a fat tire. It mounts to a 65mm large marge rim and it works great. Definitely a lower bottom bracket but not at all an issue.

Grippiest AM tire
I have this tire on my AM bike and doesn't get any better. Amazing grip, good rolling resistance (for the type of tire), etc. SOme times you have to compromise weight, or rolling resistance to grip, but Maxxis knows how to balance it all out. For an AM bike, there is no other choice and I recomend it to everyone.

Great Tire
I have ran a lot of tires and the minon is my favorite. I run the DHF on front and rear. It may be a little heavier than other all mountain tires but this thing grabs like crazy! It also rolls really well which is surprising for such a beefy tire that grabs so well! I even pump the pressure up and ride dirt jumps occasionally and am surprised at how quick it rolls. The 2.3 measures out as specified. The 2.5 is barely wider than the 2.3- it measures closer to 2.35 (not sure what happened there).

PROS: Durable, Attractive Design, Easy To Install

Confidence inspiring performance
Started using minions on a recommendation from my son and have been using for a while now. No flats, great grip!

Predictable grip, little rolling resistance.
This is my 2nd Minion DHF. Tire easily sets up tubeless even though it is not designated "TR." Drifting feels predictable with low rolling resistance for the amount of grip provided. The 2.5 actually measures to 2.3 with my vernier calipers.

One of the best tires out there
I live in Tahoe and this is my go to to front tire. Amazing traction, long lasting, no flats even at lower pressure. At first I was skeptical of running a 2.5 on my every day ride. It was clear on the first ride that the amazing traction made the size and weight worth while. I've been running the same one for a season and a half and it still has tread left.

Maxxis minion DHF exo tire
Use to ride only Bontrager XR4 which I like very much, but due to sidewall cuts didn't buy again. I was blown away how good minion grips in all kinds of conditions. I knew about maxxis lower volume and bought size 2.5 and it still has lower volume than bontrager XR4 2.35. But 2.5 is perfect. Will stick with this tire. It seems that it has more rolling resistance but I could be wrong. Not bad at all. Better then expected.

PROS: Nice Sidewalls, Mounts Tight On The Rim, Very Grippy, Great Rubber

CONS: NONE

BEST USES: Mountain Biking, Loose Rocky Any Dirt

I usually ride with 2.4 width, but I'm wondering if the 2.5 will fit my rim as well?
