Designed by Maxxis European racing development effort, the Maxxis Minion DHR welcomes the demands of intense conditions and daunting terrain. Like the Minion DHF, the Minion DHR features a directional, ramped knob design that reduces rolling resistance. Where the DHF feature channeled knobs for better traction, the DHR's channeled knobs were designed to improve both braking and acceleration. This isn't to say the Maxxis Minion DHR is a more responsive tire at the expense of traction and precision. As the part about a "more responsive tire" is true, the latter part however is not true. The Minion DHR employs Maxxis's Super Tacky compound; a special low rebound, high traction compound that grabs in the corners, and can hold a true line. Using Maxxis's DH (Downhill) casing, the DHR features two layers of material that are used from bead to bead, offering more protection and sidewall rigidity to hold up in rock sections and rooted narrows. Combine the ST compound with the DH casing, and everything sought out in a reliable downhill tire can be found in the Maxxis Minion DHR Super Tacky.
