Team Maxxis rider Colin Bailey designed the Minion DHF during the 2001 NORBA NCS downhill season. Utilizing proven tread concepts such as ramped knobs for low rolling resistance and fore-to-aft channel cut knobs for straight line control and precise cornering, the Minion DH F is yet another example of Maxxis ongoing commitment to product development. Designed by our European Racing Development effort, Team Maxxis-MSC.
FRONT TIRE
M301 directional, ramped knob design
REAR TIRE
The Minion DH R features ramped knobs, like the DH F, but the channels in the knobs are designed for braking and accelerating. Excels when rear-mounted with the Minion DH F on the front.
M303 directional, ramped knob design
These tires are ideal for use on hardpack, loose-over-hardpack and medium soil. For best results order a matching set of front and rear tires.

Comments about Maxxis Minion DHR Super Tacky Tire:
Like Glue! This tire is so sticky that it picks up small pebbles off the pavement from the truck to the trail! Likewise, it holds the trail like nothing else.
I use this tire in the front primarily in the winter, although you can use it in the summer. Be prepared to replace it after a short time though cuz the dry ground rips the tread up.

Comments about Maxxis Minion DHR Super Tacky Tire:
I really like these tires for all types of terrain (dry and wet), they make a really good DH race tire. The one con on this tire is how quickly is wears down the tread, at the price they are I was hoping they would last a bit longer.
The tires are light enough and I have noticed they stick really well on all types of terrain, especially on off camber sections.
Don't know if this was just my luck but I have not gotten a flat or a pinch flat while riding these tires (1 year plus) so that's a huge bonus.

They are very nice tires if can afford em', i would definitely suggest ridin this tire on the front at least, just watch out for the sandy stuff!
Comments about Maxxis Minion DHR Super Tacky Tire:
I practice technical downhill only in rocks and this tire help me to get a better grip in each curve or trick

i thought that it was fun good helping people out with this, maybe it will make it so they spend less money :P
Comments about Maxxis Minion DHR Super Tacky Tire:
These are great tires for full on DH. If you like fresh tread, you'll need to continue to buy rear tires if you ride in areas that chew up tires as the compound is so soft. Having said that, the compound is great at hooking up on most anything other than sticky mud. They do inspire confidence. At this point after 1 year I can't see myself using another brand or style of tire. If you want a good freeride tire you'll need to weigh the options of a tire that climbs well vs. a tire that goes downhill well. These do not like to climb-that's why is says DH on the side of the tire.
Comments about Maxxis Minion DHR Super Tacky Tire:
Great tire to rely on. If you're poor and can't afford to replace tires often go for a harder compound tire.
Comments about Maxxis Minion DHR Super Tacky Tire:
Preety Exspensive if you just ride for fun buy some cheaper tires especialy the back one. Try running the tubeless ones as well.
