        Comments about Maxxis Ultralight Tube:

Used these tubes for the BC Bike Race. Didn't get a single pinch flat, or flat through the whole race.
They have been on my xc bike since, over 1600km and still no flats at all.

        Comments about Maxxis Ultralight Tube:

I love these tubes. Lightweight tubes improve ride quality and make you quicker up the hill. I have had lightweight butyl tubes burst in hard dips while mountain biking, a very unenjoyable experience, to be sure. These take incredible amounts of punishment even at lower pressures. (~30psi is the lowest I'll go on a tubed XC setup for my riding style)

However, puncture protection is the tire's job, not the tube's. So be sure to buy a tire with a good protection belt. If you're trying to get close to the effective weight of a tubeless setup without actually having to go tubeless, these are a great bet. Be sure to carry a spare and a patch kit with you when you ride.

              • Anything but DH

              Comments about Maxxis Ultralight Tube:

The Maxxis Ultralight tubes essentially are the lightest of the tubes before you get into the Superlights. The Superlight tubes unfortunately almost always split in 3 to 6 months unless something does them in sooner. The Maxxis Ultralights when they puncture it is justified. While you could use they in DH they are a waste of money as a heavier tube will last longer and weight isn't that much of an issue
