Maxxis Beaver Tire

The Maxxis Beaver is a dual-compound race tire made for wet and muddy conditions. The directional knobby tread pattern provides plenty of grip over mixed terrain, from wet rocky sections to loose mud. The dual compound utilizes a hard base layer and a softer, siped outer layer. The hard base layer reduces rolling resistance while providing structural support for the tread knobs and the softer outer layer provides superior grip during the wettest, muddiest of conditions. The Maxxis Beaver tire definitely feels at home in wet and muddy conditions!

      Comments about Maxxis Beaver Tire:

Put this on for wetter fall riding and it was confidence inspiring. Works well on sketchy traction including snow - as XC tires go. It's not a downhill tire and don't expect miracles, especially on ice. It is a loose fit so needs lots of tape to get it tubeless. Other than that it is great.

        Comments about Maxxis Beaver Tire:

Really good tires for grip on mud and roots, at least for a lightweight tire. Confidence inspiring if you want to go fast on your XC bike.

        Comments about Maxxis Beaver Tire:

I mounted these up on my hardtail 29er trail bike. They are noticeably lightweight, especially for a 29 tire. They mounted fine on my 28mm (external) rims. They shed mud and debris very well, and are pretty grippy for their small size (2.0). I would have liked them in a bigger size, but Maxxis sadly doesn't make them any bigger. As well, my first rear tire blew up on a small, rocky incline. I realize that lightweight tires cannot be indestructible, but a one inch gash on my first ride was not appreciated. Thankfully, JensonUSA promptly refunded me and sent me a new one, which has been working well for the past 4 rides.
