The Maxxis Ultralight tubes essentially are the lightest of the tubes before you get into the Superlights. The Superlight tubes unfortunately almost always split in 3 to 6 months unless something does them in sooner. The Maxxis Ultralights when they puncture it is justified. While you could use they in DH they are a waste of money as a heavier tube will last longer and weight isn't that much of an issue

These tubes will be ok if you are finesse rider that checks tire pressure before every ride.Someone that does not sustain a lot of hard impacts. I would only recommend it for intermediate XC. The thin walls and high vulnerability of it to pinch flats in my opinion are not worth the weight savings.I would rather have the extra weight of a normal tube, and in return have security.

Comments about Maxxis Ultralight Presta Valve Tube:

Lightweight. Seem to be higher quality than other "lightweight tubes" on the market. Worth trying if you want to save a little weight (I saved 4 ounces [2 tubes]).

Comments about Maxxis Ultralight Presta Valve Tube:

Had a bad experience with Forte ultralight tubes but people on my local MTB forum had good luck with the Maxxis and I'm a Maxxis tire owner and fan so I gave these a try since the price was so good. 70 miles in half of which was rough terrain and the tubes still hold all the air I need.

This tube split down the seam after about 50 miles of use. I do like the orange valve cover :)

Mine weigh in at 130 grams. Only a few grams lighter than the much cheaper Duro tubes. I do like the orange valve caps though!

These are the tubes that I gravitate back to everytime. Road, Mountain and any other. This comes from a dude whom has pedaled 'hard core' for the last twenty years and up to 10k miles in a year.

I use these on both my 26" hardtail and 26" DJ. They hold their pressure incredibly well both in the high ranges of my DJ and low pressure of my hardtail. They have yet to split/pop on my DJ and I have a lot of hours and hard landings on them. Overall incredibly light and VERY reliable.
