Met Parachute Hes Helmet

Met Parachute Hes Helmet

Strong. Lightweight. Highly Ventilated.

The MET Parachute is back and ideal for Enduro. At 700 grams, it is the lightest full face helmet that meets American ASTM F1952-2032 standards. At that weight it is the only helmet you need for attacking the climbs and the descents. The low weight and extraordinary level of protection is owed to its Monocoque carbon construction, In-Moulding Intelligent Fusion and a Homothetic Embedded Skeleton. All of which are specifically included and designed for absorbing and dissipating the forces of an impact across the entire shell of the helmet. In addition to being light and strong, the MET Parachute helmet raises the comfort bar with interchangeable cheek pads, gel front pads, and by being highly ventilated. A few little extra touches not to miss are the easily removable camera support, a goggle clip, and the adjustable visor.

I bought a Bell Super2R back in '14 when they first came out, and after leaving the chin bar off to climb into my trails, I left it on once to see how easy it was to breath hard with it on.
Turns out it was just as easy as an open-face, so I left the chin bar on full time afterwards.
      Fast-forward to Nov 2015, and I did a face-plant.
Checking the foam, turned out I dented it so bought a new one-this time MIPS. The MIPS S2R fits more snugly than the non-MIPS, and since I have a gigantic head, it was too tight. Chris at the Corona store told me about the Parachute they had just got it, so I checked it out, and subsequently bought it.
The chin bar is every bit as ventilated as the S2R, and the helmet-being Carbon Fiber, is actually noticeably lighter.
I've been happily wearing it now for several months, and I've got ZERO complaints. Turns out, it has the same certification as many purpose-built DH helmets, including the Troy Lee(s), so I will wear it when Snow Summit opens up in a couple months.
Anyone who does so-called 'Enduro', DH, or any riding at speed through rocks etc. should STRONGLY consider wearing one of these 'Enduro' full-face helmets. If I had been wearing your typical 'Enduro' open-face lid, I would've EASILY broken my nose, and knocked out several of my front teeth. People think that since mountain biking isn't as dangerous as MX/off-road motorcycle riding, therefore they don't need the same level of protection are WRONG. It's not necessarily the speed that does the damage-although riding DH you easily hit the same speeds as you do riding MX/off-road, but the HEIGHT. Your head is every bit as high off the ground on an MTB, 'cuz you're standing most of the time-especially going DH, or anywhere at speed. The modern mountain bike is so good, we're riding a LOT faster over rough(er) terrain than we ever have before.
With helmets like the S2R and the Met Parachute on the market now, there's absolutely NO excuse not to be wearing a full-face helmet.

      The Ultimate Helmet!!!
This helmet rocks!!! Secure strap, true to size and comfortable fit. Well ventilated for the climbs and full face confidence inspiring for rowdy descents! Great design, looks awesome, expensive but well worth it! By the way how much are dentist and doctor bills after a bad endo?

      Finally here in the US!
Only complaint is the double D ring strap secure mech. I prefer the clip, but it's probably not strong enough for full face requirements. Fit is accurate coming from a Giro and no hot spots. The ventilation is on par with a XC helmet. Noticeably lighter than a comparable dh full face.

I have only ridden with this helmet in cooler temperatures, but so far it breaths and vents heat well. It is lighter than I expected. It slides on loose, and tightens down for an excellent fit with adjustment on the back. Highly recommend this for a full face.

Does this feature a detachable chin bar? Is it rated for dh use?
      A shopper on Feb 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The chin bar is not removable and the helmet is rated for dh use. The astm 2032 and 1952 are the two highest standards for dh helmets. I would recommend a bit beefier helmet if you are really pushing the limits of your skill. Hitting a tree with your head just riding cross country trails can be fatal in a helmet that is not strong enough.
My wife measured my head at just under 23 inches. That measurement puts me right at the high side of a medium and on the low side of a large. I don't want the helmet flopping around and I don't want to feel like my head is in a vice. Which would be the better size to choose?
      jrt312 on Apr 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I own a Large and may head circumference is 57 inches, id say you for a medium. The problem with a medium sized MEt is the opening of the helmet, its kinda tight. I suggest if you can try it first at their bike stores.
