Comments about Miche Pista Track Chain:
Last year I decided to build up a fixed gear bicycle for training, bad weather, and commuting purposes. My goals in this build were to have a bike built for speed without any exceptions.
I decided to purchase as many track specific parts as I could because of the stiffness, aggressive geometry, and sharp handling. However, building a track beauty and bringing on the streets almost seemed disrespectful. So, I looked for parts that where specific to the track and of quality but not such a large investment that I would be nervous and cringing with every pothole, puddle, and crack in the pavement.
This is where the Miche brand made my life easy. They offer a full line of track components of, what I feel, great quality and most importantly they come in at a reasonable price.
Every componenent I've purchased form this line has functioned flawlessly, looked great, and sat in line with my two original goals. Track specific (aggressive, fast, and stiff) and at a price tag I wouldn't feel guilty riding it all over the city.
Plus, it has a little Italian Heritage behind it. It makes you feel special, like you have something besides the norm.
The chain is no different. It is a great piece of equipment.
It comes well packaged and factory greased so there was no rust from storage. Most importantly it is 1/2 x 1/8. It is the proper chain to use on track specific chainrings and cogs. One of my most important stipulations.
The links are easy to manage and install was very easy.
It has been just about a year now since my purchase and install and the chain is truly worry free.
Stretch has been negligible.
Clean it, lube it, and forget about it. It is everything you need in a chain to fit your track specific components on your fixed gear project.
With all the options out there, I havn't looked back once.
Plus, at Jenson's price point and service, you cannot go wrong.
