Michelin Pro 4 Grip is dedicated to harsh conditions; offering 15% more grip on wet surfaces than the Pro 4 Service Course. The new tread was designed specifically for the shoulders of the tire to optimize grip when leaning and cornering. The new tire profile provides an improved contact patch on the ground when leaning to prevent loss of grip, while the innovative rubber compound works brilliantly on all type of roads and at all temperatures. Grip isn’t the only area of improvement, as a very high level of anti-puncture protection is achieved through the Aramide reinforcing ply developed specifically for this tire, which covers the whole rolling surface and resists cuts on the crown and shoulders. All-in-all the Pro 4 Grip wasn’t bred to be a race-specific tire, weighing a tad more than the Service Course, with slightly more rolling resistance. However, the Pro 4 Grip makes up in its grip capabilities, puncture resistance, and tread life. Not your conventional race tire, but the only tire you’ll want when racing in less-than-pleasant conditions.
