This hitch rack is SOLID. By that I mean it is constructed VERY well. No loose joints or parts. Bikes sit securely.

The way that Kuat has engineered the hitch receiver, to take up the slack in side, to prevent any rocking is great. The rack sits with no movement when driving or going over rough road.

Loading the bikes is easy and quick. They go on and sit securely with out any movement. I have used mountain, road, and fat bikes on it. No issues.

A couple cons though. If you are using the NV with the Add on (2 additional trays) Like I am. Then to use the tilt feature that allows it to move out of the way for rear hatches to open, is pointless. It is VERY hard to hold the trays with bikes on it, and release the leaver, with out it falling and hitting the ground hard. Then to lift the whole kit with bikes ... is HEAVY.

The other con ... is due to it being very solid and constructed well. It does come with a weight penalty. It is about 60lbs. When you add the additional trays ... it tops out close to 80lbs. So it is a bit cumbersome to load and store.

But even with those minor cons ... I would not go back to the other products I have used previously.
this is the one.

My rack fell apart in the car wash and when I tried posting the picture to their facebook page they banned me. I called jay at Kuat and he told me that this is not a warranty or manufacturer issue. Thule is rock solid and my warranty issue with yakima was handled really well. Go with one of these companies

Awesome bike hauler, I also purchased the two bike add on. The draw back is there lock. It's only long enough to lock one wheel on each bike, it would be easy for someone to take your bikes, make sure you add your own cable locks

Holds the bike well and quick to load/unload. Love the built in stand and hitch stabilizer. The built in lock is convient, but I wouldn't trust it for more than a few minutes, I use a chain lock. Also, if you have a jeep or suv with a rear mount tire you will need a hitch extension.

Comments about Kuat NV 2 Bike Tray Hitch Rack:

I have used this rack for over a year now and it is still working well and looks great. The mechanism for holding the bikes works well and does not scratch the frame or fork. I was a bit concerned at first that it didn't hold the bike very securely and that the wheel brace would scratch the fork but it's been solid and no scratches at all. I've used it for 14 hour road trips, backcountry drives, and for all sorts of bikes and no issues.

In contrast to my previous Thule 990 XT and Saris Thelma racks the Kuat is an improvement in quality and durability. The Thule rusted and scuffed my frame and the Saris moved a lot on the hitch and held the bikes in a way that they always seemed to touching handlebars and seatposts.

By contrast the Kuat has been solid on the hitch, although it is starting to get a little looser after a year of regular use. The bikes have also never come close to touching which makes life a lot easier.

          Overall a great product

Comments about Kuat NV 2 Bike Tray Hitch Rack:

First off Jenson USA is awesome. Great price, great shipping fee and great time on delivery.

I've had my NV (2") for a little over a week now and I'm very impressed. The hardware is not only attractive but is very solid. Had two MT bikes on both with 780mm handlebars without any issues. The clearance between the handlebars and my rear window is over 6". My car is a 2012 Dodge Durango and the rear glass slopes in towards the cab at the top.
With the hitch locking cam cranked down there is just a slight amount of play, which is a good thing. (Building things without a bit of flex and too rigidly is a structural faux pas)

Bikes go on and come off quickly. There isn't much play in the security cable which helps in not damaging the frame. Please note that the cable will only go through the rear triangles. I typically carry an extra cable to lock down my seat & wheels if i need the extra protection.

Assembly was easy enough. I did it on my own, would have been easier having an extra pair of hands. I foolishly took off the strategically placed plastic wrap prior to assembly. I then realized it was there to help protect the finish when using the allen wrench so i recommend keeping it on until assembly is complete.
Overall this is an excellent rack and I definitely recommend it.
