The Niner Carbon Rigid Fork could very well be the most advanced rigid mountain bike fork on the planet. Purpose-built from the ground up, Niner utilized carbon in ways no other fork manufacture has done before. From the tip of the dropout to the top of the steerer tube and everywhere in between, the Niner Carbon Rigid Fork takes full advantage of the damping characteristics of carbon. Unlike three-piece bonded forks which can have stress risers in transitions between dissimilar materials, the full carbon design of the Niner fork is both lighter and stronger by eliminating bonded sections all together. In addition to the full carbon complement, the outside shape of the fork was designed to disperse impact energy throughout the entire structure, damping trail vibrations before they get to your hands without compromising steering precision. From tip to tail, the Niner Carbon Rigid fork was designed for better performance. If you dont need much travel you can cut a ton of weight from your 29er with this fork. At 565 grams it is an easy way to trim a couple of pounds from the weight of your mountain bike and turn it into... well, not a mountain bike anymore, since you can no longer tackle big rocks, drops and things you find on muntains. It might be able to handle them, but you dont want to be on the receiving end of the shocks thru the handlebars. Great for commuting and I guess very smooth trail riding.

Skeptical with the claim of the manufacturer, i first tried this out with a friends bike. It's true, it has a certain "give." especially when u start to get tired and start leaning your weight on the Hb.
To me, its noticeable your hands dont get much of the shock from the bumps and holes.
So thumbs up to u Niner for making a fantastic product!

This fork is great for its purpose. It climbs great, sprints great, and lightens the bike.
It is not like a suspension fork, no review suggesting it's "compliance" will take a hit larger than a couple of inches is honest.
I use the QR version and am very happy with the stiffness, Im 200lbs.
