These well thought-out cogs show the commitment Niner has made to developing a quality product for singlespeeders. Costs a wee bit more than generic stamped steel cogs, but:
- 7075-T6 alloy (lighter)
- Thick offset base (wont chew up your expensive alloy freehub body)
- Slightly offset left/right (you can fine tune your chainline by flipping the cog)
- Fits Shimano and Shimano-compatible freehub bodies

I wanted an aluminum cog with a wide base so as not to damage my hub and this one fits the bill perfectly. It has an attractive design and the flip-flop chain line adjustment makes it easy to dial in.
The only downside is that the steel chain is tougher than the Al cog, so it's bound to wear a little quicker. Not a problem specific to this cog but something to be aware of when comparing it to steel or Ti cogs.
Overall I highly recommend this.

This cog is great! It has a super wide stance for alloy cassette bodies, really deep teeth so you never have to worry about your chain popping off, A-symetrical which makes it perfect for a precise chain line, and it's super light.

My first 20t cog showed after less than 100 miles, deformation on the teeth. This material is too soft for extended use. Only noticed this after getting a 19t cog. Put 20 miles on that one and it is deforming between the teeth. Don't expect this cog to last. Going steel or Ti from now on.

So far so good. It is clearly a good product in line with Chris King or Endless cogs. Stay away from the thin steel stamped cogs, they are bad news and slip on the hub.
