The EMD 9 (Eat My Dust) might be the most affordable 29r frame available, but that doesn't mean it's not a performance-proven, race-ready steed! Niner started with a clean slate, choosing 7005 tubing then adding the same s-bend curves as the Air 9. This simple yet elegant design feature allows for some vertical rear wheel compliance, while maintaining drive train rigidity and efficiency. In other words it's supple and fast! To complete the frame it is then finished with same level of detail you have come to expect from Niner, including the stainless steel head badge and a beautiful finish. The head tube and bottom bracket are reamed and faced, the BB threads are chased and the disc brake mount tabs are faced as well. Niner poured their heart and soul into this frame, as much as any other, and created a fun, fast and comfortable ride just for you.
The EMD 9 is built up with a blend of quality components from SRAM’s X7 group. Designed for the mountain biker who is looking for solid components at a reasonable price point, the X7 group consists of durable components that won’t let you down on the trail. The SRAM X7 rear derailleur uses their Exact Actuation Technology to provide crisp, smooth shifting under the extremely demanding conditions found out on the trail. Shifting is controlled by SRAM X7 trigger shifters that also use the Exact Actuation technology to provide effortless shifts. The package is rounded off by Niner branded cockpit components and wheels to create a cross country machine that flows effortlessly through endless single track.

Comments about Niner EMD 9 1 Star X7 Bike:
I have owned two of these EMD 9's in the last two years. Superb! Twenty years of riding MTB and the most fun and most epic rides have been on an EMD. Every part works beautifully together to create a killer machine.
