The RIP 9 embodies a passion for mountain biking. Hydroformed top and down tubes are both strong and add interesting angles to the frame. Its not just a bike, it’s a form of art. The tapered headtube helps to keep the front end stiff. There are over 10 forged or extruded parts on the RIP 9. The frame and hardware have all gone through a painstaking process of FEA mechanical stress testing and real world testing. This ensured that they were as light and strong as possible. This resulted in increased stiffness everywhere without adding extra weight.
The RIP 9 features Niner’s patented CVA suspension. CVA suspension is the only 29er specific suspension design. CVA was designed to be efficient in all 3 chainrings (if you should choose to run 3 chainrings.) The location of the lower pivot (under the bottom bracket) chain torque effectively isolates and cancels out the forces acting to create inefficiency in pedal stroke.
Niner matched the RIP with high performance parts. The RockShox Revelation is the extreme trail fork. The Revelation is smooth and responsive due to the RockShox Motion Control. The custom Sun Ringle Charger wheels are strong and were built to handle variable terrain. Seamlessly shift through all twenty gears. The X9 rear derailleur and X7 front derailleur will provide a reliable shift everytime. Elixir brakes provide rock solid stopping power. The RIP is properly geared up to take you on the ride of your life.

Great bike for trail riding, the only complain that I have is that the paint in the hot tamale red scratches and chips too easy. There are lot of complains about this issue, so the best bet is to buy the raw finish.
