Niner Carbon Seatpost

The Niner Carbon Seatpost is one of the best ways reduce weight while simultaneously providing a more pleasant riding experience. The nature of carbon allows the post to bend slightly to absorb small road vibrations, resulting in a smoother and more comfortable ride. Weighing in at a mere 250g and featuring a unidirectional carbon finish with colorful graphics, the Niner Carbon seatpost is perfect for your XC race rig or your weekend Trail bike. The 370mm length offers plenty of room to get your saddle height just right while dialing in your saddle position is a breeze thanks to the super simple 2-bolt clamp; the same design used on Niner’s RDO seatpost. Like all Carbon Niner products, the Niner Carbon seatpost is backed by Niner's C5 Carbon Warranty to esure confidence in your purchase (Remember: racing does NOT void your warranty!).

  • Carbon shaft with alloy head
  • Simple and strong 2-bolt clamp, zero setback design
  • 30.9mm x 370mm
  • 250g
  • Backed by Niner’s C5 Carbon warranty

Bought this because I wanted to replace an alloy seat post on my hard tail. Saw that this was on sale for an amazing deal off MSRP and had to grab it. I've read a lot about Niner posts (especially the RDO version) and this one only has 2mm less flex for significantly less money so it was a no brainer. I only wish that more colors were available, but the branding is so small that it doesn't really matter.

Ok. So I have a carbon fiber bike and I decided to upgrade to a carbon seat post. I keep hearing about better ride quality over alloy. My seat of the pants impression is there is no difference. Weight savings... less that 10 grams difference from the alloy post that came on my bike. Now the carbon one is 400mm and the alloy one is 370mm and that can account for some of the reason that the carbon is almost as heavy. Yes it looks nice but is it worth the fact you can no longer clamp your bike by the seat post in the work stand and the fact you may have a problem with the extra length being a problem as it may interfere with the seat tube water bottle cage bolts? If I had to do it over again I would spend my money elsewhere.

                          A:

Shane, the RLT requires a 27.2mm seatpost. Currently, we only stock the 30.9mm version of this seatpost. Another option in the same general price range, that would fit your RLT, is the Race Face Next SL Carbon Post:
