Niner RDO Carbon 29" Fork

The 15mm thru-axle comes to Niner's 29'er-specific rigid carbon fork! This is the option riders have been waiting for. It is designed to mate perfectly with the now-common 15mm front thru-axle standard on today's high-end wheels.

Niner's existing carbon fork is the starting point, featuring a full carbon construction from dropout to steerer and crown for unmatched weight and strength. Designed to dampen trail vibration before it reaches your hands, without compromising the steering precision you've come to expect. Niner took the fork to the next level by building it around the SRAM Maxle standard, building incredible strength and torsional stiffness in while remaining a lively fork with plenty of dampening. This is a state-of-the art fork built for real riders, light years ahead of yesterday's flimsy, flexy and sketchy carbon forks. Throwing this fork on the front end of your bike will dramatically improve tracking, drop a bunch of weight, and add that bit of Niner bling. Finally, this fork has HUGE tire clearance, and can easily accomodate 2.8" rubber with room to spare. This isn't your dad's carbon fork!

  • Incredibly lightweight and stiff construction, brutally strong and rated for MTB use!
  • Disc brake only
  • Designed specifically for 29" Wheels
  • No rider weight limit
  • Fits rotors up to 185mm
  • 470mm axle to crown, 45mm offset
  • claimed 630 grams with axle
  • Big tire clearance
  • 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" tapered steerer tube
  • 15mm Maxle included

Suspension is dead. This fork will prove it to you.
I have been riding since the mid 80's (mountain biking) and rode every trail I still ride today on a fully rigid 26" with canti brakes and no index shifting.
Through the years I have ridden on a long travel full suspension cross county bike as well as various hard tails with from suspension. I began to notice that I was getting lazy with my technique and lines and allowing the tech to erode my skills. I finally decided to swap out the fork in my current hard tail with this rigid one from niner and what a difference!
Now I'm not apples to tech if it's tree to make me bette/faster/stronger. My hard tail is full carbon, I'm riding a magic tubeless setup. Xt disc brakes front and rear and all my rides are data logged on a garmin edge. So it's not about turning my back on improvements.
This fork is stiff. Tracks amazing with the 15mm thru axle. Let's you pick a line and stuck it. Keeps you on your toes and riding fluid. There is not suspension to bail you out of a bad line or bad technique. Now I'm not an amazing rider or anything but know I will be better off for riding rigid and every trail is a new adventure to clear.
I highly recommend the niner rdo!!!'

The best rigid forks
If you do not need over 100mm of fork travel then you should consider a set of these forks. Carbon bars and a 2.4" front tire improve the ride even more.

Light, beautiful, excellent performance
It's a fantastic match on my Niner One Nine. And the Maxle is an upgrade to the issue of loosening 9mm Q/Rs.

Great fork
This fork went on a rigid single speed. Wow! What an increase in stability, tracking, stiffness, and weight savings. My only complaint is related to the thru axle itself. It had poor fitment with my hub, but a swap out to a Maxle Stealth saved weight and improved the removability of the axle. Love it!

Will a 3" Vittoria Bombolini fit this fork?
Marty on Feb 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I think it will, but it may be tight for muddy conditions. The fork opening is roughly 82mm wide at about 365mm from the center of the axle as I measure mine right now. Specs I found listed 76mm wide and 757mm diameter fore that tire. If you have one mounted already, measure the widest point of the tire and how far it is from the axle to confirm before ordering. Great fork by the way!
