Niterider Solas 100 Tailight Features
The lighting seems to be very good. Very bright light, will likely never need brightest setting. This is true for both the Lumina 950 and the Solas 100. Lumina seems to be very durable as I dropped it onto the pavement during first ride and other than a couple of minor scrapes it's still working.
The mount for the Lumina is not great. It holds the light for me and I think casual riding on smoothe pavement would be no issue, but any kind of bumps, rough road and there is a possibility of light coming loose. When I first mounted it I noticed that the tab that bends down to allow engagement of "teeth" into the light was very weak and didn't even press firmly against light as teeth were engaged. After first ride concerns were proven legit because light came loose and fell off during ride.
On the solas the "button" for power and switching modes is just a rubber insert that then engages the buttong down in the light and I've had some difficulty cycling through the modes with it. Not a deal breaker here but it's a bit frustrating that it's not a bit easier to press the rubber and engage the button below it consistently each press.
