I really love the standard mini-USB port connector. Means it is easy to find charging connections at home and work, which is reassuring. However the rubber cover over that USB port is needless flimsy. This hasn't created any actual problems for me yet. But it does not ease my mind to know that the connector is effectively exposed to the elements at all times.
Also, I wish that the connector to the lamp was compatible with other NiteRider Sur-lock connectors. It's a different connector. I'm sure there is a good electrical reason for this, but I had the proliferation of incompatibility among products much less within the same company. Could we get an industry standard connector, please? Almost exactly the opposite of what makes the USB so nice.

The design is smart because the battery and light element are seperate to reduce stress on the mounting system from the weight of the battery. I mount the battery on the stem and the light on the handlebar. It is plenty bright for me. The mounting system is really quick and easy. It is basically a strong rubber band that wraps around the bar and hooks to the light. I haven't had an issue with the light jiggling loose or anything. The light I bought came with 3 different size bands. Easy on/off lighted push button.

For commuting this light is ideal. Lights enough of the road for a steady road riding. I don't believe it's sufficient for darker off-road rides, but would be great for an additional helmet light. I love the blinking daytime feature... more beneficial than you can imagine, gives drivers more time to register oncoming bikes.
