There's a lot of good words wrapped up in the OneUp Cinch Boost Oval Chainring, and you just read them. Designed for Race Face cinch cranks, this futuristic narrow wide ring offers three main benefits, and they all rhyme with traction. Mountain is not road, and mountain can benefit from oval rings, and the more constant torque output they give to the rear wheel, which can help reduce spinning out and stalling on tough climbs. It will convert your Cinch crank to a Boost compatible one. The 12% ovality means a 32T ring becomes a 30-34T range. It's got reinforcement to provide durability when running without a bash guard.

Q:Can you run an oval CR with a SXg chainguide and bash guard?
A:It will probably work but you might have to modify it. If you are getting the 32 tooth just make sure you can adjust your guide for a 34 tooth round.
A:You shouldn't need a chain guide as this chainring has a narrow wide pattern and as a bash guard goes I'm not 100% sure if they even sell a oval bash guard, but I don't run with neither one and I haven't any chain drops or any worries about chainring get hit good luck on your decision I enjoy having a oval chainring
A:I'm using an MRP chain stay and bash guard that's supposed to only be for chainring up to 32. I know the 32 oval goes up to 34 on the wires point and down to a 30 on the lowest. There was a little bit of rubbing at first on the chain stay but it went away after it rubbed down. Now it's perfect. So to loosely answer your question. You should be able to as long as you take into consideration the largest point on the chainring.
A:I have mine with a chain guide (also One Up) working with no issue. You do have to raise the guide slightly.
