I got this pack to use for bike riding and I dig it big time.I was a little worried it would be too bulky,nope not at all,it cinches down fine when I don't carry much.I'm surprised at how comfortable this pack feels when I put some weight in it.Taking the bladder out to fill it and not having to empty the pack to put it back in is absolute Genius,I save tons of time with that.Another really cool thing I've found is that after a long ride and I've been sweating I can take the panel that fits up against your back out of the pack and wash it,(And Still Not Have TO Unload The Pack),because there is another interior back panel that supports the pack as well.Also after these sweaty rides my stuff in the pack is dry.WOW....In Texas this is Monumental...My old pack had to be emptied out after each ride and everything set out to dry.This thing can definitely carry a lot and is a very convenient pack,lots of pockets and well thought out. Another huge deal about this pack is "THE OSPREY WARRANTY" Great company with real customer service. If you're like me you will read tons of reviews. People dig this pack and do so for a reason. I am totally cool with my choice in buying the Raptor 18. It's a great pack !

Loved this pack! First time to use a bigger pack to carry my own essentials, and it was great! Never hurt my back or shoulders and I had plenty of room to carry everything I needed for our 33 mile hike!

Comments about Osprey Raptor 18 Hydraulic Hydration Pack:
I've had my Osprey Raptor for about a year and a half now, and it's been through just about everything. Crashes on the rocks in Arizona, torrential downpours in Ohio, and day-long exploration rides in California. The thing just never quits. It hasn't ripped or torn anywhere, there isn't a thread loose on it, the zippers and bungees all still work exactly as they were when it was brand new. I LOVE this pack. And if you expand the straps out all the way, it holds a surprising amount of stuff! More than enough for a day's hiking or riding. I stuff it full of tools, food and survival gear if I'm headed out alone, or dump it all out and cinch down the straps if I'm at a race or event. The retention system is ingenious, and you don't even notice it's there on even the roughest terrain, it's so stable. I really can't say enough about the thing. SO much better than the Camelback products I used before I got my Osprey. So good I bought my wife one, too!
