I needed a pair of grips for an older bike that I had aquired & a pair for a fixie build. I chose these based on the fact that they have been around for a while. There is a reason for that, they are great. I applied these to freshly cleaned bars with a bit of alcohol wiped on the inside and they went on with ease and were held tight within about an hour.

These are Terrible!!!!!!1. These must be installed with tape or adhesive (according to instructions), or else they will slip and slide something awful. Even with double stick tape, they turn easily.2. After about 5 rides, one grip tore half way. I think it slid off, and got torn on the ends of the bars, but can't be certain.3. Rubber too soft, tears easily.4. Every other grip I've had are WAY superior, race face, trek, specialized, ???I've never had trouble with any grip, no matter how old and how many times it has been reused5. My son has had same problem with his. We threw them away immediately.6. Wish I could give them 0 stars

      Comments about Oury Mountain Grip:

I use them on XC flat bars with bar ends (on a hard tail with a rigid fork and tyres at 50psi).

The rubber collar at the end does not interfere with transitions from bar end to grips. To use with bar ends, just lift the bike and gently tap the grip with a plastic hammer/ wooden block. Makes a nice circular cut (cleaner than using a knife). If using without bar ends, I suggest plugging the bar/ using flat (as opposed to round) end caps. The ends of the OURYs are thin and will tear/ get holed after a few rides/ leaning the bike at stops.

The black ones need least cleaning. I have an orange and green set (bought two pairs) - India colors. These need cleaning with detergent soap and an (old) toothbrush after every ride, the price of patriotism . . .

Still made in the USA and competitively priced. Yay!

This is personal, but I think they look good!

This is a great bar for the price. They are wide, but you can cut them down to the size of your liking. I use it on my single speed road bike to make the seating position alot more casual for getting around town. For my purpose it works. Its not the lightest bar, but its not crazy heavy either.

One of the softest grips on the market

          Comments about Oury Mountain Grip:

The Oury grip is probably one of the thickest and softest grips on the market today. The soft compound allows for a very soft feel on the bar. I've noticed with this grip as compared to other that it does help reduce arm pump as it does make it easier for your hands to stay on the bars with more comfort. The grip quality is good and it has lasted all season with only minimal wear. It also works great in all types of conditions, whether is bone dry or the grip is wet is still works great and keeps your hands nice and comfy on the bars.
If you like the feel of soft thick grips this is definitely one to consider.

          Go with the lock-ons...

          • Mountain Biking

          Comments about Oury Mountain Grip:

Oury grips are some of the most comfortable available. The only downsides to these are: that the rubber ends wear from normal use pretty easily... and that the grips begin to slip over time (rotating on the bar at inopportune times).

The best way to go is to get the Oury Lock-on grips. Same comfort, but they don't move. The weight savings for the non-locking grips is not worth it.

          Comments about Oury Mountain Grip:

Thick, chunky grips. You won't get "sensitive" handling from these, so forget it for XC racing. AM and DH, their OK.
Also, you gotta use high percentage alcohol when installing these, or they won't dry very well, and slip. Or, use an air compressor to dry that schlippy off.

I've only purchased one pair of these and they've lasted forever! The rubber around the bar end has worn through, but that doesn't matter to me. The grip is still great, wet or dry.
