POC Cortex DH Mips Helmet
Unlike most full-face gravity helmets, the Cortex by POC sports a simplistic, yet confident style, draped in technology for the utmost comfort and functionality. Generously ventilated, the Cortex features a durable fiber glass outer shell, and a multi-impact EPP constructed liner that allows the helmet to take multiple blows without having to be replaced. The open vents allow more air to flow through the helmet to keep things cool for prolonged periods of time. When the dust settles at the end of the day, and over-the-top helmets with loud graphics just aren't your thing, look to the Cortex to feed your style and protect your head.
The POC Cortex DH MIPS Helmet is equipped with the patented MIPS system to reduce the rotational forces to the brain in the case of an oblique impact. Where most helmets are tested for vertical impacts, studies have shown that the human brain is more sensitive to oblique impacts. MIPS technology mimics nature's own method of reducing forces transferred to the brain in the event of a crash. When subjected to an oblique impact, a membrane between the brain the skull allows the brain to slide along the inner surface of the skull, which ultimately reduces the forces transferred to the brain. MIPS helmets use a low friction layer between the shell and liner to mimic this process, which significantly reducing the forces transferred to the brain.

PROS: Good Ventilation, Tough, Comfortable Fit, Clip Straps
Build quality was excellent and overall the interior was very comfortable. However, it fit a bit odd- the upper half was too loose, while the lower half was perfect.
It had better visibility than the TLD D3, but less vents- The were almost exactly the same weight. The Kali Avatar II, was lighter, and had a much, much better fit on my head (Medium).
Also a bit disappointing, POC does not include a nice transport helmet bag, that is included with the TLD D3, and the Kali Avatar II.
Goggle fit was great with my Oakley Airbrake MX on all of the mentioned helmets.
This was the most expensive helmet of all the ones listed, and while it was good- the Kali Avatar II was more comfortable, lighter, had better ventilation, and cost slightly less. Glad I tried the helmet, but it's a distant second place in my books.
PROS: Tough, Lightweight
CONS: Uncomfortable, No Ventilation
