Poc Trabec Helmet
The Trabec is a well-ventilated in-mold helmet that combines functionality and performance. A great choice for enduro and singletrack riding, the Trabec is optimized for higher speeds and heavy usage and follows a construction shape that is similar to the trabecular bone structure that has excellent resistance and durability. PROS: Tough, Comfortable Fit, Highly Adjustable
CONS: Some Glass Don't Fit
BEST USES: All-Around, Short Rides, Commuting, Mountain Biking, Road Biking, Long Rides, Warm Weather
I loved the fit of mine. Although I expected it to be on the warm side because of fewer vents, the circulation was always plenty adequate. Straps were easily adjusted as was the fit system.
I will also say it saved my melon. I went down hard at 30+. Landed on the side of my head. I ended up with a substantial concussion, but the helmet performed perfectly. The skin was scuffed up pretty badly, but remained intact. The foam was cracked through and compressed about 25%. The helmet stayed in place and I'm sure prevented a skull fracture and more serious TBI.
My new MIPS version arrived the other day. For those of you considering it, the fit is similar, but definitely tighter on the sides and probably a little smaller fit overall.
PROS: Tough, Highly Adjustable, Comfortable Fit
BEST USES: Mountain Biking, All-Around
That being said the helmet was cracked and trash at that point but i walked away without a conclusion and minor head bruising. It did its job 100%.
That being said the helmet does not have the softest fit and feels rough on my buzzed head compared to my troy lee a1.
Only other rec. to people buying is go up one size then you usually wear if you want enduro like fitment were it sits further down as i wear a m/l in three other helmets and a xl in a poc.
