This chamois cream is great for keeping comfortable on all days rides, and I like having them in small, single serving packets so that I can bring some along with me or keep an extra in my camelback. It doesn't last all day, so reapplying is definitely necessary on epic rides.

I've used Chamois Butt'r for over seven years. This stuff just works.
It's cheaper than a lot of alternatives and does not have any menthol or other weird ingredients.
From 1.5 hours to 5 hours, this stuff is indispensable.
I've tried Assos (expensive and makes me want to pee) as well as DZ Nuts (same thing). Get Chamois Butt'r and be done with it.
