I had these 20 years ago, recently bought a Smoke/Dart combo again to see how they'd stack up against today's tyres. Great traction on the rear. Well designed and spaced out knobs. Grippy. I used to abuse this tyre and it'd still go even with knobs ripped off! That's how much abuse this baby can handle. I was doing stuff which called for a proper FR/DH tyre and this baby kept going! Too bad no 2.5" or 2.3" size. I would get them if they made them. Highly recommended. Beats the current day competition as well!

I love the classic smoke. The first one I had ever bought was for my caad 3 15 years ago and I still use them today. The smoke is my go-to tire whenever I have to replace a rear on any MTB. It does have a bit of rolling drag like any level of aggressive tire but that is fine. The overall traction and performance of the tire is just great.

Very satisfied...will use again. I still have my factory original Tioga front tire, but this Panaracer Smoke 2.1 tire is tough to beat when on the drive wheel.

Excellent tire, along with the Dart front tire. Very good traction and despite the large lugs, it sheds mud well. Cornering is also good. No complaints.
