Comments about Park Tool Park HCW-16 Chain whip/15mm Pedal Wrench:
the pedal wrench is invaluable. the chain whip is a bit of a hit or miss.......i tried removing an almost new sram sprocket for cleaning, and the whip would not hold. it kept slipping.....eventually i had to twist and try to lock it in place, but it felt like it was not how it should have been......i think the concave section behind the short piece of chain needs to be a bit deeper so it can hold onto more than just one tooth.....
it does work though, and the pedal wrench has helped me out on more than once when removing old pedals......as someone else pointed out, the tool is made of a piece of flat metal, and the edges will press against your hand and cause some pain if you apply a lot of pressure, but a rag can fix that

Comments about Park Tool Park HCW-16 Chain whip/15mm Pedal Wrench:
The pedal wrench on this is just one step above an emergency tool. I have stripped, and seen many of these stripped on pedals which had been put on too tightly. Yes, the wrench flats themselves will strip. Yikes!
The chain whip portion is fine, but the metal is just too thin on this to be a reliable pedal wrench. If that is what you are looking for, it is worth the money to upgrade to one of the beefier pedal-wrench-only tools in the Park, or other, lines.
Comments about Park Tool Park HCW-16 Chain whip/15mm Pedal Wrench:
Used only twice, works as intended. Due to thin profile (like a really dull knife) it could potentially hurt hands. Nothing a rag can't solve though.

Does what it was made to do, but rust developed pretty quickly on the chain links.

Its a great combination tool, the chain whip works flawlessly, as does the pedal wrench end. Both are built sturdy enough to last a lifetime.
