Park Tool CT-5 Mini Chain Tool

PARK TOOL CT-5 MINI CHAIN TOOL

This smal, lightweightl chain tool goes anywhere and actually performs like a shop-quality tool. The fine thread, special "V"-shaped handle, and super strong replaceable pin make chain removal and installation a breeze. The CT-5 works on any derailleur chain (including Hyperglide) and has a "shelf" for loosening tight links. At only 77 grams, its the perfect take-along chain tool, and is probably the most chain tool most people need.

Lightweight and compact.
If you are looking for a chain tool for frequent garage use, this might not be your best bet... but if you, like me, only have a couple of bikes to maintain, and like the security of being able to bring the tool with you on rides, the CT-5 is perfect. Lightweight, and compact, it will fit just about anywhere.

Both the handle and body itself are a little short and tough to grip for a really stubborn chain pin, but it's all more than adequate for infrequent usage.

PROS: Rugged, Lightweight

CONS: Tough to Grip

Wicked little chain tool
This chain tool works very well, it's small and lightweight and takes up very little room in the pack/tool bag. The first one worked so well that I bought a second tool to keep in my tool kit on my road bike. It makes short work of repairing chains, whether in the garage or out on the trail. Great job Park Tool!

Good chain tool
This chain break is nice and lightweight so it's easy to bring along, but isn't the most ergonomic one out there. Still, it works great and can take a lot of use without showing it.

It's a good tool
I had this tool for almost a decade without breaking it. And, it only broke because I was in a hurry and using it improperly. It's a sturdy chain breaker and does it's job. It can be a little tricky to hold on to if you have big hands but not all that bad.

Pretty impressive...
Pretty impressive little tool on the cheap. It's deceivingly heavy for it's small size, but absolutely perfect as a carry-in tool in case of emergency repairs. If you replace a ton of chains, maybe this wouldn't be for you, but if the only bike you maintain is your own, it's completely worth the money.

my mountain biking mentor told me to only buy Park chain tools. He was right. I've never had a problem with one.

PARK CT-5 MINI CHAIN BRUTE
I've only used this to replace a Shimano 10 speed mtb chain so far, but it's been stellar in that respect. It's cheap, small, light, sturdy, simple to use and packs easily. I keep it in my little travel multi-tool set where ever I ride. It's a "must have" tool, especially if you use Shimano chains that require the rivet to pushed out/pressed in.

PROS: Simple to use, Small, Light, Sturdy

CONS: none
