I repair and refurbish bikes for people who can't spend much on them so a lot have freewheels instead of cassettes. This has saved many a wheel and kept them in service.

Good tool. Received pack all covered in tape to hold the plastic containing the tool onto the card. Looks like someone returned this. Would be nice to be told if you'll be sent stuff with irregular packaging and/or returns. But, the tool looked fine and it worked on a *VERY* stubborn old freewheel (Falcon Superwide 6sp) with only minor damage. To be fair, this was due to me hoping in the first instance to remove it with an adjustable wrench. Even after soaking the freewheel in WD-40, the big wrench started to distort the flats of two sides of the FR-7, so time to dig out a 1" socket and 24" breaker bar. Sat on floor with one boot on, braced wheel against a wall (tire on), held it with both hands and one foot. Pushed the breaker bar with my booted foot as hard as I could and on the third try with a little grunting, the threads popped loose with a load snap. No damage to tool, wheel or bar, so this thing can take some serious strain if you seat it properly and use a socket on it. Decent price. Checked and it fits the replacement Falcon 7sp freewheel too. I'd give it 4.5stars as it could be made of even harder stuff, but it's hard enough to do even a tough job with no probs, so I'll round up this time.
