With a 36 waist, I originally bought the XL on line as from what I could tell from other reviews, that would be a "safer" bet but I was wrong. I adjusted the inner adjustment bands to the max and still too large. The replacement L size is perfect for the waist, padding and overall fit. Fabric is very breathable and no wrinkling after hang-drying. Grey color goes with everything. These shorts don't create near the amount of drag that my baggier ones did. I highly recommend them.

The fit and finish of Pearl Izumi is always great. I have numerous pieces of their attire over the past decade or so.
The liners that come with are great and a bit of an upgrade from the last set that I purchased (slightly different product).
As for the outside shell, it's a bit long and the pocket at the bottom is kinda useless. I also kinda miss the hand pockets from a previous generation as it helped when loading up the car (keys, phone, whatever). But really these things don't matter too much.
I've been using them on the trail and for commuting to work. Solid set of shorts.

I like the shorts. Good fit, runs just a tad big like most PI products I own. Pad is a little on the thin side, but not too bad. Lightweight technical fabric. Removable inside is nice touch. Only one smallish poclet -- will holda cell phone and keys but that's about it.

These shorts are very comfortable and the removable liner actually has a very decent pad for the price. Sure, there are better shorts out there, but for the money, these are a winner! The one pocket is more of an afterthought, but I tend to carry everything in my pack anyway. They do tend to run a little big, I typically wear a 33/34 waist and the large was a little big on me.
