    Comments about Portland Design Works Radbot Taillight:

    I want to give this 5 stars. I really do! But after about a year and a half it suddenly, mysteriously conked out on me. (Now I'm going to try PDWs service policy, which might push it right back to 5. Until then, 4.)

    First off, super bright LED (even if advertising it as "Japanese" seems a little non-germane). And the built in reflector....duh! *Every* commuter oriented light should have passive reflection built in, but they don't and I don't know why not. Clearly this was designed by someone who bikes.

    The bracket on this is great. In addition to all the normal mounting options, you can turn this and mount it horizontally too. (Why can't all blinkies do that?) But the design is much more stable for that result than the friction-based one used on NiteRider's Cherry Bomb.

    The dimensions here are slightly different than the comparable sized Cherry Bomb, or Planet Bike blinkies. I had a little trouble getting it to fit in the same space on the back of my rack and above the fender, but was able to do so with some tweaking.

    Again, if it weren't for the surprise going kaput, would be a solid 5, possibly 6, maybe 11.
