I tried the vanilla flavor, and I didn't like the taste very much. The sugar was welcome, but for flavor Gu and Cliff are my preference.

I've tried a number of different Gels and the Powerbar Power Gels are by far my favorite. They are thin and are swallowed easily; unlike all others I've tried that need to be choked down.

I always keep at least one with me and more if the ride is longer than 3 hours. They have pulled me out of a pre-bonking state and helped nurse tired riding buddies home.

At the beginning I was kind of non believer of this kind of stuff, but in reality it works. I can feel a little more energized after one. The taste is good and they fit almost in any pocket of your backpack.

I live a few miles from Riverside warehouse, so I just order online for pick-up. The guy's(Steve, etc.) give me a call when my order is ready for pick-up(usually w/in a few hrs.!). Customer service is second to none! The staff is very helpful, and will answer any questions.

PowerBar Gels are much like rocket fuel for your legs! 8 minutes after ingestion, you will feel great and have
tons of power. So 'time' those climbs and sprints & ingest 8 minutes prior.

Comparing it to the other offerings, I've found Power Gel to be the best value at 24 packs for roughly around $20. Other companies would have you pay $24-28 for the same number of servings. Are they worth the premium? Maybe. I don't compete or get consumed by segment times. I ride a few times a week with friends at around 15-20 miles of trail. The gel goes down a lot easier than the Hammer and Gu for me. Peanut Butter Gu was so thick and rich like the actual stuff out of the jar. Chocolate Hammer was rich and too sweet. So far I've had the Double Latte and Tangerine Power Gels, the only 2x caffeine flavors. They go down easy, taste fine, and don't leave a rich sugary coating/feeling in your mouth and throat. I've even found them as a good substitute for pre workout mix or canned energy drinks; the gels are a better value per serving and I feel a little more health conscious not mega dosing on caffeine. Buy in bulk instead of paying $1.50 to $2 each.

I like PowerGels because bars make my mouth dry and take a little while to get down. Gels like this go down in a couple of seconds and then you're back in business. I don't think they give me the boost I was expecting from them, especially since they have caffeine in them, but for the ease of use, small footprint and time it takes to get going in your system, I can't complain.

Fuels fine but not sold on the taste...will try another flavor

I am experimenting with ways to stay energized on the bike, so I gave it a try and the flavor was OK. But that is subjective.

It is compact easy to store, which is Ideal for long rides, however, there are so many chemicals, I would prefer food based energy.

I was expecting better tastes for these gels. But I still don't really like it. Don't get me wrong, the energy boost works but the taste is just not for me.

I bought this because it was cheep and I needed a few extra bucks on my order to get free shipping. I've been using other energy gels and they've been just fine. I can't say the same for these Power Gels.

They're runny - the consistency of snot - and very sticky! I made a mess the first time I tried swallowing this stuff. I say "tried swallowing" because it made me gag. The berry flavor was terrible! I'm glad I only bought 2 of these and not a whole box because I'm not sure if I can swallow another one.

The only good thing I can say about Power Gel is it did what it was supposed to... I think. But for now, I'll just stick to my thicker, non-sticky, tasty energy gels, thank you.
