I had these on my singlespeed mountain bike and they did not last. The first warning was one of the bolts snapped during a ride. Two rides later I heard some serious creaking from my crank. I checked the bolts and they were fine until a loud snap on a steep climb and I ripped the chainring right off. Stick with steel bolts for off-road use. I would use these on a road singlespeed or fixie.

this was not a good experience - just seems that they bolts are too weak and snapped one in half while tightening by hand - not pleased with this product - will find another set somewhere to replace them

Terrible product .Should not be considered safe.If it was made out of a stronger metal it would be the fix your looking for.

I used these bolts to secure a Salsa singlespeed chainring onto an old (but very trick) Syncros crankset. 2 of the 5 bolts cracked right through the hex socket. And no, I wasn't reefing on them. They failed way below what could be considered 'tight'. Maybe I got a bad batch, coz I've used these before without this happening, but I can't see myself getting these bolts again. I replaced all the bolts with Suginos. Much heavier, but they didn't crack.
