The idea of this thing is perfect, but the the fact that it doesn't seal well to the presta tube stem without tape, and that it doesn't have threads so you have to use a push on pump shuck makes it less than ideal. Ideally just use tubes with longer stems, in a pinch this might help.

I got my first flat with my Edge Carbon 29er XC Clinchers at Sycamore Canyon and noticed that my spare didn't have a long valve stem, so I stopped by Jenson to see if they had 29er tubes with a long valve stem. They didn't--heck, they didn't even know that I could use 700cc x 50+ tubes on my 29er. They suggested this though and it worked, though I was confused why I couldn't get more than 20 psi. I checked it with my hand and the tire was hard as a rock! I then realized that it was due to the extension and pulled it off and let some air out to what my hand thought was the tire pressure I liked. It doesn't leak air. I just left it on the stem and finished my ride without a problem. It works, but if I wanted something more permanent and high quality, such as if I wished to convert to tubeless with stans rim strip, I'd go for the extension made by Tufo.

See the product weaknesses for my experience and ask any shop, and they will steer you clear, get the aluminum Tufo much Lighter.
