Some reviewers say that it doesn't give the correct readings, but mine does.
Different chains are different widths, but all should be the same distance between links, so I don't know what kind of problem they are having.
I think it is a good tool. Kinda expensive, but I think it is worth it.

I have to second the comments of the last reviewer, mine is totally off as well, shows 8-10 wear on a new chain that checks out fine when I measure it by hand.

I bought this thinking how great it would be to tell in % how much chain wear I had as opposed to the other Park guage i have that only tells you if it's over .75 or over 1.
Maybe mine was defective but i tried this out on a few different chains and it told me i had worn out chains even though i knew for a fact it had less than 500k riding on it. It would read over .75 when my park tool wouldn't. Worst waste of money i can remember in years. I don't ever write reviews but i am so mad at this one i just had to.
